Qualifications.

Possess at least 3 years of experience within the last 5 years in a healthcare facility.

Notwithstanding the aforementioned requirements, the HCW must have pertinent clinical experience within the past 2 years sufficient to demonstrate current clinical competency for the setting and procedures required by the contract.

Provide two letters of recommendation written within the last two years attesting to the HCW’s clinical skills.  A minimum of one letter must be from a supervisor  Reference letters must include name, title, phone number, date of reference, address and signature of the individual providing the reference.

Description.

Perform a full range of comprehensive LPN services in accordance with clinical privileges granted by the Commanding Officer.

Initiate and facilitate the patient care through appropriate triage activities.

Assist providers during a variety of clinical examinations and/or procedures, which may include incision and drainage, wart removal, vasectomies, pap smears and obstetrical exams, setting up and passing instruments and supplies, pulmonary function test and presents EKG’s for interpretation by medical officer.  May be required to provide stand-by as indicated.

Hours of Operation.

Services will normally be required Monday through Friday between the hours of 0700 to 1800 for an 8.5 hour period which includes an uncompensated .5 hour meal break. 

Services will not normally be required on the day of observance of federal holidays. 

The LPN shall be on duty for about 40 hours each week, except during periods of approved leave and holidays.

In no instance will the LPN be required to provide services (onsite service plus approved leave and holidays) in excess of 80 hours per 2-week period.  The specific schedule for each 2-week period will be scheduled 1 month in advance by the supervisor.

Services will not normally be required on the day of observance of federal holidays.  The LPN will be credited 8 hours for each holiday (if work is required on a holiday, a paid compensatory 8-hour day off will be granted).
