PEDIATRICIAN
QUALIFICATIONS.
The pediatrician shall meet the following licensure,
certification, education and experience requirements.
Successfully completed an internship and residency in an
accredited U.S. Pediatric Training
Program.
Be board certified.
Have and maintain current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
certification.
EXPERIENCE.
The provider shall have provided services as a
Pediatrician for a minimum of 11 months within the past 12
months. The
provider must also have at least 3-5 years of experience in
Pediatrics to include residency and fellow time
DESCRIPTION. The pediatrician shall be capable of
performing the full range of general medical services to include
the ability and experience to adequately diagnose and treat
urgent/acute diseases and injuries - to include but not limited
to the following:

Become familiar with the hospital formulary.
The physician authorized to prescribe pharmaceuticals
shall do so according to the availability of drugs listed
therein. The
pharmacy services will provide instructions to all prescribing
practitioners regarding substitutions of generic drugs for
prescribed drugs.
The physician shall follow the procedures of the MTF when
prescribing drugs.
Prepare and maintain proper medical records on beneficiaries to
whom treatment is provided in accordance with MTF procedures.
Follow the established operating procedures for the pediatric
clinic. He/she
shall participate in the quality control activities of the
department of pediatrics.
HOURS OF OPERATION. The contractor
shall provide services Monday-Friday, 0730-1630.
Contractor is not required to work on observed federal holidays.
The Contractor may or may not be required to work during days
that have been designated by installation or organization
leadership as days for reduced operations. The supervisor,
or designee, will coordinate any changes to the staffing
schedules (i.e., inclement weather, clinic closures, etc.) with
the Contractor.
