Audiologist
Qualifications.
Licensed in a State, Territory or
Commonwealth of the United States or District of Columbia.
-Must be ASHA certified.
-Must have a minimum of five (5) years
experience.
Description.
Conducts a
full range of audiological evaluations to determine the type and
degree of hearing loss, determines patients' need for
amplification, predicts and measures the effectiveness of
amplification, and determines need for and type of
rehabilitation and counseling of veterans with hearing loss and
their families.
In carrying
out the clinical duties and responsibilities of this position,
audiologist uses a wide range of knowledge and skill in applying
a wide range of theories, principles, and methodologies in the
practice of audiology to a wide range of populations.

Develops coherent treatment strategies;

Knowledge of clinical services and the ability to perform
them independently;

Conducts assessments, provides treatment interventions;

Provides consultation to other health care professionals;

Knowledge of contemporary audiology practice;

Ability to perform functions associated with contemporary
audiology practice.
Administrative duties to include:
documentation of patient encounters in CPRS, encounter
reporting via vista, and documentation of hearing aid activities
in ROES
Hours of Operation.
Audiologist
will be required to be on site at the West Haven, CT campus
providing services from 7:30AM to 4:00PM, Tuesdays through
Saturdays, excluding federal holidays.
This
includes a one-half hour lunch break, which is at no cost to VA.
